Once you understand how to eat in a healthy way and exercise safely and effectively you will overcome the barrier of ignorance.
Fear of failure: most people I know who want to lose weight are stonewalled by the fear of failure. Sure you are going to have cravings and will not always be able to resist temptation, but we are all human and this is to be expected. You can still resume your diet and not lose much ground. In fact without a few stumbles on the way it is harder to learn from your mistakes and be successful.
Negativity: Negative thoughts can stop anyone in their tracks and losing weight is no exception. You will need to train your mind to think in a positive way. Maybe you are not losing weight as quickly as you wanted? But think about it, surely 5 pounds is better than no pounds of weight lost? Every pound is drawing you closer to your goal and feeling better about yourself. When you think in a positive manner you can easily accomplish a task.
